Weather & Packing
Pack for the Season
Ladakh is a high-altitude cold desert, and the weather can change quickly. Even in summer, evenings can be cool, while winter requires proper cold-weather clothing and protection from wind, snow, and strong sun.
Summer Packing
For summer stays, we recommend light layers for daytime, a warm jacket for evenings, comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, a cap or hat, lip balm, a reusable water bottle, and a small daypack for walks, cycling, and outdoor experiences.
Winter Packing
For winter snow leopard expeditions, warm clothing is essential. Guests should carry a heavy down jacket, thermal layers, fleece or wool mid-layers, waterproof outerwear, warm gloves, woollen socks, a warm cap or balaclava, waterproof trekking boots, sunglasses, sunscreen, and personal medicines.
For wildlife tracking, we recommend wearing natural earth tones such as khaki, olive, beige, brown, or muted grey. Bright colours are best avoided in the field.
