Summer at Shan

While Shan at Uley is best known for winter snow leopard expeditions, summer reveals a different beauty of Uley.

The mountains are warmer, the village fields come alive, the skies are clear, and the pace becomes slower. It is the perfect season for guests who want to experience Ladakh beyond sightseeing — through nature, village life, wildlife, food, walking, cycling, and quiet time outdoors.

Summer at Shan at Uley is about slowing down and connecting deeply with the landscape.

Stargazing

Come for the mountains. Stay for the stillness.

Suggested stay -  2-3 nights

Shan at Uley is an experiential destination, and a one-night stay does not fully do justice to the experience.

We recommend a minimum stay of 2 nights to enjoy the lodge, landscape, and activities at a relaxed pace. For a more complete experience, 3 nights or more is ideal

Best time - June to September

The best time for summer experiences is from June to October, when the weather is pleasant, trails are open, village life is active, and the skies are clear for outdoor experiences.

Trip Style - Experiential, relaxed, remote

This is a slow, experiential mountain stay — ideal for guests who enjoy nature, soft adventure, village life, wildlife, photography, quiet landscapes, and meaningful time outdoors.
