Shan at Uley is a year-round destination, with summer and winter offering very different ways to experience Ladakh.

Summer: June to September

 

Summer is ideal for slow village stays, mountain biking, wildlife walks, trekking, outdoor dining, stargazing, and cultural experiences. The weather is more comfortable, village life is active, and the trails are more accessible.

Best for: soft adventure, family stays, village life, cycling, trekking, outdoor meals, photography, and relaxed Ladakh experiences.

Winter: November to April

 

Winter is the prime season for snow leopard expeditions. The mountains around Uley become an important habitat for snow leopards, ibex, urial, wolves, foxes, vultures, and eagles.

Best for: snow leopard tracking, wildlife photography, serious nature travel, and expert-led winter expeditions.
